Porcelain dental veneers transform your smile in Pembroke Pines, FL

Porcelain Dental Veneers in Pembroke Pines FL area

When you look at your smile in the mirror, is there something you’d like to change about it, but you don’t want to commit to months of treatments like orthodontic work? If you’re interested in a nearly instant smile transformation, then porcelain dental veneers may be just what you need! At Pines Dental Associates, patients in the Pembroke Pines, FL area can achieve a nearly flawless smile quickly with this versatile cosmetic dental treatment.

Issues dental veneers can hide

Veneers are ultra-thin pieces of porcelain that are custom designed for your smile. They can mask a wide variety of imperfections that may be making you self-conscious. Veneers can hide issues such as:

  • Chipped, cracked, or worn-down teeth
  • Unusually shaped teeth
  • Teeth that seem too small in comparison to others
  • Imperfections in your enamel, such as grooves or pits
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Permanently stained or discolored teeth that are resistant to teeth whitening
  • Mild misalignment
  • Asymmetry between teeth

The veneer placement process

With porcelain dental veneers, patients can achieve a movie star smile in just two appointments. At Pines Dental Associates, we start the process by performing an in-depth consultation with you to learn what you like and don’t like about your teeth, your treatment preferences, and your overall goals for your smile. We also complete a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, and jaw to ensure that veneers are the right option for you – in some cases, other dental issues such as gum disease or decay may need to be treated first to ensure the best results, both for your veneers and your overall oral health.

When you are ready to move forward with veneers, we will begin by preparing your teeth for the veneers to be placed. We do this by removing a very small amount of enamel from the teeth that will be treated, which is necessary so that the veneers don’t look too bulky in your mouth or change your bite. Then, we will make impressions of your mouth so that the veneers can be custom fabricated in the laboratory. You are a key participant in this process, picking out the shade of the veneers and providing input on how the results should look.

After your custom veneers are ready (usually about two weeks later), you will come into the office again. At this visit, Dr. Ruiz will “try on” the veneers and make any adjustments that are needed. When you both agree that they look and fit great, he will cement them in place, and you are ready to go with your brand-new smile!

Same-day veneers

For patients who don’t want to wait for porcelain veneers to be created, Dr. Ruiz can place same-day veneers. With this process, instead of using porcelain, Dr. Ruiz uses a composite resin material to transform the shape, size, and/or color of your teeth. This process is fast and economical, but it is important to know that composite resin veneers may not last as long or be as durable as porcelain.
